This article is for: All SideDrawer Users

Collaborators on a SideDrawer or Record can send reminders to one another to support collaboration.
You can use reminders to ask one or more other users to:

  • Upload a file

  • Complete an Info Request

  • Read a document

  • Provide a note or signature on a document

Creating a Reminder will send an email notification to that Collaborator or Collaborators, with a customized message and a link to the SideDrawer.
You can send Reminders right away, schedule them for a set date and time, or set them to recur on a daily, weekly, monthly, or yearly basis

NOTE: Not all SideDrawer environments have Reminders activated.
If you don't see Reminders in the left-hand menu of your SideDrawer, then this tool is not available in your environment at the SideDrawer level
You can still create Reminders at the Record level, from the Records menu

Creating Reminders - SideDrawer

These are the steps for creating a Reminder at the SideDrawer level, that can be sent to any Collaborator on the SideDrawer

  1. From the Reminders & Notifications screen, select Create Reminder

  2. Enter a Name for your Reminder
The name will appear in the subject line of the Reminder email

  3. Choose the Recipient or Recipients for the Reminder
Select the Recipient email address from the drop-down, then click Add Recipient
For multiple recipients, you can make additional selections

  4. Add the Custom Message
Type the message that you want the user to receive - this will be the body of the Reminder email
Make sure not to include any sensitive or private information in the message!

  5. Send the Reminder
If the Reminder is going out just once, and is being sent right away, select Send this Reminder as soon as possible, then Save & Set Reminder

The Reminder will be sent in approximately 2 minutes

If you want to schedule the Reminder to be sent later, or set it up to repeat, see Scheduling Reminders, below

  6. Reminder Email
The recipient will receive a notification email, with the text from the reminder, and a link that will take them to the SideDrawer login page

Creating Reminders - Record

You can also set Reminders for a specific Record, that can be sent to any Collaborator on that Record

  1. Choose the Record that you want to create a Reminder for, then select Edit from the right-hand side of the Record screen

  2. From the Record Details screen, select Reminders & Notifications, then click the + Sign to add a new Reminder

  3. From here, the steps are the same as for the SideDrawer-level Reminder above:

    1. Choose a Name for your Reminder

    2. Select the Recipient(s)

    3. Write a custom message for the Reminder email

    4. Send right away OR Schedule for later

    5. Send once OR Set a Recurrence and End Date

  4. Reminder Email
As with the SideDrawer-level Reminder, the Record-level Reminder will generate an email notification, which will show the name of the SideDrawer and the Record, and will include the custom message

Scheduling Reminders

  1. Send Immediately
To send your Reminder right away, select Send this Reminder as soon as possible, then click on Save & Set Reminder below

The Reminder will send after a 2-minute delay

Viewing and Editing Reminders

Finished Reminders
Reminders that have been completed (sent once or reached their recurrence end date) will appear as Finished in the Reminders & Notifications menu
You can click on a Finished Reminder to check its details, but cannot edit or change anything

Active Reminders

If a Reminder is still Active, you can edit it in a few ways:

  • Update Reminder Name
Edit the text in Personalized Name to change the title of the Reminder

  • Add Recipients
Enter a new email address, then select Add Recipient, and this Collaborator will also receive the Reminder emails

  • Edit Message
Type in the message line to change the message in the Reminder email

  • Change Scheduling
Edit the timing options to adjust the sending time, frequency, or end date

Reminder Action Menu
Select the 3 dots to the right of the Reminder to bring up the Action Menu:

  • Pause
Put a Scheduled Reminder on pause - no notifications will be sent
When you're ready, go back to the Action Menu and select Run to re-activate the Reminder

  • View Reminder Details
Same as clicking on the Reminder name - this will bring up the screen where you can edit Name, Recipients, Message, and Scheduling

  • Delete Reminder
Removes the Reminder from the SideDrawer or Record
You can just leave Reminders once they've finished, to document activity on the SideDrawer
We recommend only deleting Reminders if they were created in error
