Custom Messages - Notifications

Manage what notifications are sent when activity is happening within a SideDrawer.

Find the appropriate message(s) to be turned on in your Tenant:

1: Log into console, console.sidedrawer.com

2. Navigate to Settings > Custom Messages:

3. Preview each of the listed notifications by navigating to the Actions button beside each, select Notifications Type Update then selecting Preview at the bottom.

NOTE: A window will appear where changes can be made to the notification. If you need help with updating the text, please contact us using the chat bubble to submit your request.

4. Toggle the button under "English" to turn notifications on or off.

IMPORTANT To help determine whether Notifications should be turned off, it is important to understand who receives notifications when the Notifications are turned on:

A collaborator at the SideDrawer level

Will receive notifications when the notification is turned on

Owner

Yes

Editor

Yes

Viewer

Yes

No detail

No

A collaborator at the Record level

Will receive notifications when the notification is turned on

Editor

Yes - but only related to the Record you have editor rights to

Viewer

Other parameters, for the Activity Summary Notification

  • The message a user receives is a batch email of all changes every hour

  • The message contains a log of all changes; details are similar to what is found in the Timeline of the SideDrawer (see this article for an explanation of the SideDrawer Timeline)

  • Users do not get updates on actions they complete themselves

Turning off Notifications for a specific SideDrawer

Clients/end users can turn off notifications for a specific SideDrawer by navigating to My Account and selecting Personal Information. The client/end can toggle on or off ‘Activate SideDrawer notifications’ .
